GF82.70-P-0004-03SX Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) Log-in
- with CODE (494) USA version
- with CODE (387) Preinstallation for telephone "Handy", UPCI system, USA/Canada

Component Identification:

Function requirements:
^ Enabled subscriber identification module (SIM) card inserted into the portable CTEL (A34/6)
^ The portable CTEL is switched on and off using the On/Off button

If required (system specific), enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN). In response to this, the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) system contacts the most favorably positioned Base Transceiver Station (BTS) and then routes the data over the Base Station Controller (BSC) to the Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC).
Access authorization for the mobile telephone network is issued following an inquiry of the required data in the Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC). After successful log-in to the mobile telephone network, the name of the mobile telephone network is indicated on the portable CTEL display.

If the next nearest Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) is not the one entered by the user when logging-in his/her portable CTEL as a cellular phone subscriber in the Home Location Register (HLR), then he/she is registered in the Visitor Location Register (VLR). The stated Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) then establishes contact with the user's Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC), in which he/she is entered in the Home Location Register (HLR) as a cellular phone subscriber, and after an inquiry of the required data, access authorization to the mobile telephone network is issued. The Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC) thus automatically knows where the subscriber is located and it can then route the incoming calls to him/her as long as he/she remains logged into the mobile telephone network. Any change of location is updated in the Mobile Service Switching Center (MSC).
