On vehicles with VCS the hands-free system microphone group is connected with the voice control system control unit (VCS) (N41/3) The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit forwards the processed voice signals to the corresponding control units via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)

The hands-free system microphone group is directly connected to the COMAND controller unit (A40/3), because the telephone and VCS [SBS] functions are integrated in the COMAND controller unit.
