GF91.60-P-0002CA Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), Function
GF91.60-P-0002CA Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), Function
Function requirements, general
^ The supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be programmed to the vehicle (left or right-hand drive vehicle, equipment programming and configuration parameters)
^ Circuit 15R ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) transmits the circuit status for circuit 15 to the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) via the chassis CAN (CAN E)
Supplemental restraint system, general
The SRS is intended for passenger and pedestrian protection (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection).
The SRS comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for system monitoring
^ Function sequence power reserve
^ Function sequence belt lock system
Further partial functions are described in separate documents:
^ Passenger-side seat occupied recognition, function (without code (494) USA version)
^ Passenger-side seat occupied recognition, function (with code (494) USA version)
^ Deploy supplemental restraint system, function
^ Deploying of pyrofuse, function
^ Pedestrian protection function (with code (U60) Pedestrian protection)
Function sequence system monitoring
The SRS continuously monitors itself and signals faults to the driver via the airbag indicator and warning lamp (A1e15) in the instrument cluster (A1). The switch-on request for the supplement restraint system indicator lamp is transmitted by the supplement restraint system control unit to the instrument cluster via the chassis CAN. The automatic child seat recognition warning lamp (S6/1e1) (with code (U18) Automatic child seat recognition (ACSR [AKSE])) is also switched on. The switch-on request for the automatic child seat recognition warning lamp is transmitted by the supplement restraint system control unit to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via the chassis CAN.
It actuates the automatic child seat recognition warning lamp via the instrument panel LIN (LIN 1). Any faults are stored in the nonvolatile memory of the supplemental restraint system control unit. The supplemental restraint system indicator lamp and the automatic child seat recognition warning lamp are switched off following a successful self-test after t = 4 s.
Function sequence power reserve
The supplemental restraint system control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms if the battery has been disconnected.
Function sequence belt lock system
Irrespective of the supplemental restraint system control unit, the belt is prevented from extending in certain situations.
