GF82.62-P-5000CA Digital Audio Broadcasting Control Unit, Component Description
- with CODE (537) Digital radio

Component Identification:

Location
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit is located on the crossmember in the trunk beneath the paneling on the trunk floor.

Task
^ Reading in of signals
^ Decoding of signals
^ Transmitting signals

Reading in of signals
Signals are read in via the following connection:
^ Direct lines

Direct lines
The following signals are read in via a direct line:
- Wake-up
- Digital Audio Broadcasting (Digital Radio) (DAB) L-band signals from the multifunction antenna (A28/11) (via coaxial line)
- DAB band III signals via the rear window antenna structure and the coaxial line at the antenna rear window FM antenna amplifier (A2/19)

The DAB L-band signals mostly come from conurbation stations. The DAB L-band III signals mostly come from inter-regional stations.

Decoding of signals
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit decodes the DAB L-band signals and DAB L-band III signals to obtain PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) signals.

Transmitting signals
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit transmits signals via the following connection:
^ Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)

MOST
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit transmits the following signals:
- DAB status
- Station lists
- Audio signals

The signals undergo further processing by one of the following control units depending on the vehicle equipment:
- Radio (A2) (with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer)
- Radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) (with code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer or code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio)
- COMAND controller unit (A40/3) (with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer or with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation))
