GF91.29-P-5231CA Driver Seat Control Unit Component Description
GF91.29-P-5231CA Driver Seat Control Unit Component Description
- with CODE (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors)
Component Identification:
Location
The driver seat control unit (N32/1) is beneath the seat cushion at the frame of the driver seat.
Task
- Control of the seat and steering column adjustment as per the requests via the interior CAN (CAN B)
- Storing the memory settings for seat, steering column, and outside mirror
- Actuation of easy entry/exit (steering column only)
- Actuation of crash-active easy exit (steering column only)
- Control of head restraint presetting
- Control of rear easy entry
- Control of the collision avoidance with bench seat in rear (only model 207.3 (C207) with code (287) Through-loading feature)
The steering column adjustment is described in the separate "Electrically adjustable steering column" function description.
The easy entry/exit function is described in the separate "Easy entry/exit steering column adjustment" function.
The crash-active easy exit function is described in the separate "Triggering supplemental restraint system" function description
The tasks are subdivided as follows:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN
The signals are read in/transmitted by the driver seat control unit. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Direct line
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31
The following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Hall sensors of the seat adjustment motors
- Hall sensors of the steering column adjustment motors
- Left EASY-ENTRY system limit switch (S159/3) (left-hand drive vehicles)
- Right EASY-ENTRY system limit switch (S159/4) (right-hand drive vehicles)
The EASY-ENTRY system limit switch of two contact switches, backrest inclination switch contact switch and backrest release contact switch.
Interior CAN
- Left front seat adjustment switch group (S22) by left front door control unit (N69/1) (left-hand drive vehicles)
- Right front seat adjustment switch group (S23) by right front door control unit (N69/2) (right-hand drive vehicles)
- Signals for crash-active easy exit function provided by supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) on chassis CAN (CAN E), routed by front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) onto interior CAN and sent to driver seat control unit (N32/1).
- Steering column adjustment switch (S59) by front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
Only model 207.3 (C207) with code 287 Through-loading feature for control of the collision avoidance with bench seat in rear:
- Status from left rear backrest inclination switch (S54/5) or right rear backrest inclination switch (S54/6) via rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Status from left rear backrest inclination switch (S54/7) or right rear backrest limit switch (S54/8) via rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
First, the signals from the steering column adjustment switch are placed on the chassis CAN (CAN E) by the steering column tube module control unit (N80) and read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
Evaluating input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the driver seat control unit. The actuation of the motors for seat and steering column adjustment takes place via integrated relays.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN
Direct line
The following motors are actuated via direct lines:
- Steering column in/out adjustment motor (M20/1)
- Steering column up/down adjustment motor (M20/2)
- Driver seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1)
- Driver seat height adjustment motor (M27/2)
- Driver seat inclination adjustment motor (M27/3)
- Driver seat head restraint adjustment motor (M27/4)
- Driver seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M27/5)
Interior CAN
- Signals for actuating the memory positions of the outside mirrors to the left front door control unit (N69/1) and right front door control unit (N69/2)
Variants
There are no variants for the hardware of the driver seat control unit.
The country or left-hand drive vehicle/right hand drive vehicle allocation is software coded.
