GF91.25-P-0001CA Multicontour Seat (MCS), Function

GF91.25-P-0001CA Multicontour Seat (MCS), Function
- with CODE (409) Left/right front multicontour seat

Function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15 or circuit 15R ON
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ No damage to the compressed air supply.

Function description of multicontour seat, general
The multicontour seat pneumatic seat (M40) is supplied with voltage by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

The multicontour seat can be adjusted individually. The individual adjustment of the contour and the surface hardness of the backrest and of the seat cushion is made possible by filling and purging.

The air cushions are located as follows:
- in the backrest area at the left and right,
- in the upper lumbar support area,
- in the lower lumbar support area and
- in front upper leg area of seat cushion (except code (494) USA version, front passenger side).

Lumbar support = curvature of spine in lumbar region.

The inflating and deflating of the individual air cushions is controlled manually via the:
- Control valve for seat cushion fore/aft adjustment (494) USA version, front passenger side)
- Control valve for lower lumbar support adjustment
- Control valve for upper lumbar support adjustment
- Control valve for side bolsters adjustment

located in the:
- Control valve block for multicontour seat

The multicontour seat enables the following subfunctions to be performed:
^ Seat cushion length adjustment (except code (494) USA version, front passenger side)
^ Adjustment of lower lumbar support
^ Adjustment of upper lumbar support
^ Adjustment of the lateral support

Seat cushion length adjustment (except code (494) USA version, front passenger side)
The front area of the multicontour seat cushion is adjusted using the control valve for seat cushion fore/aft adjustment.

When actuating the control valve for seat cushion fore/aft adjustment in the (>) or (<) direction, the seat cushion contour changes in the upper leg area by inflating or deflating the air cushion.

Adjustment of lower lumbar support
The lower lumbar support area on the multicontour backrest is adjusted with the control valve for lower lumbar support.

When actuating the lower lumbar support adjustment control valve in the (>) or (<) direction, the backrest contour changes in the lower lumbar support area by inflating or deflecting the air cushion.

Adjustment of upper lumbar support
The air cushion in the upper lumbar support area of the multicontour backrest is adjusted with the control valve for upper lumbar support adjustment.

When actuating the upper lumbar support adjustment control valve in the (>) or (<) direction, the backrest contour changes in the upper lumbar support area by inflating or deflecting the air cushion.

Adjustment of the lateral support
The lateral support of the multicontour backrest is adjusted using the control valve for side bolsters adjustment.

When actuating the control valve for side bolsters adjustment in the (><) or (<>) direction, the air cushions of the left and right side bolsters of the multicontour backrest are inflated or deflated.
