GF80.45-P-0003CA Convenience Feature (CF), Function
GF80.45-P-0003CA Convenience Feature (CF), Function
Function requirements, general
^ Power window normalized
^ Panoramic sliding roof control module normalized (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
Convenience feature (CF), general
It is possible to centrally open and close the following components with the transmitter key (A8/1) and the air recirculation mod button (N22/7s2):
- Side Windows
- Panoramic sliding sunroof with roller sun blind (model 207.3 with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding roof)
- Soft top (model 207.4)
On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go the side windows and the panoramic sliding roof can be closed via the following additional control points:
- Left front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/1)
- Right front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/2)
On vehicles with code (401) Front comfort seats including seat heating and seat ventilation, the seat ventilation is activated additionally when the vehicle is opened with the transmitter key.
It is possible to determine whether the driver seat alone or also the passenger seat is to be ventilated with variant coding.
The CF comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for CF via transmitter key
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (except code (494) USA version)
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS GO (with code (889) Keyless Go)
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via transmitter key
- Terminal 15C OFF
- Doors closed
- Press lock or release button on valid transmitter key for t > 2 s (transmitter key points in direction of driver side front door infrared remote control receiver (A26/1))
The status of c. 15 is transmitted by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) via the interior CAN.
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key
The driver side front door infrared remote control receiver receives the signal from the transmitter key and relays it to the left front door control unit (N69/1).
The left front door control unit transmits the signal "Comfort opening" or "Comfort closing" to the following control units via the interior CAN (CAN B) according to the request:
- Right front door control unit (/)N69/2
- Rear control unit (N22/6)
- Panoramic sliding roof control module (A98) (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
The left front door control unit actuates the left front door power window motor (M10/3)
The right front door control unit actuates the right front door power window motor (M10/4)
The rear control unit actuates the left rear power window motor (M10/5) and the right rear power window motor (M10/6).
Model 207.3 with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof:
The panoramic sliding roof control unit actuates the panoramic sliding door motor (A98m1) and panoramic sliding roof roller sun blind drive unit (M12/5).
During comfort opening, the roller sun blind is opened first if closed. In this case the panoramic glass sunroof is opened only after the 2nd actuation
During comfort closing, the panoramic glass sunroof is closed, if previously open, with the 1st actuation. In this case the sunroof is closed only after the 2nd actuation
On model 207.4:
The soft top is opened or closed by the rear control unit according to the request "Comfort opening" or "Comfort closing".
For further information on opening and closing the soft top, see separate function description for soft top.
With code (401) Front deluxe seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation:
The rear SAM control unit activates the seat ventilation to stage 3 over the left front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/5) and right front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/6).
If circuit 15R is not switched on at this time, the seat ventilation is switched off after t = 5 min.
The left front seat ventilation blower regulator actuates the left front seat cushion seat ventilation motor (M18/9) and left front seat backrest seat ventilation motor (M18/10).
The right front seat ventilation blower regulator actuates the right front seat cushion seat ventilation motor (M18/11) and right front seat backrest seat ventilation motor (M18/12).
The seat ventilation is switched off during comfort closing.
It is possible to define whether the seat ventilation is to be activated only for the driver seat or for both front seats with variant coding.
Additional function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (except code (494) USA version)
- Circuit 15 ON
- Air recirculation mode button pressed for t > 1 s (for comfort opening when components are closed)
- Air recirculation mode button pressed for t > 1.5 s (for comfort opening when components are open)
Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function except code (494) USA version)
Comfort opening and closing is actuated via the air recirculation button. Actuation of the air recirculation button is read in by the automatic air conditioning (N22/7) and transmitted to the following control unit via the interior CAN:
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Rear control unit
- Panoramic sliding roof control module
Before comfort closing the current position of the side windows and panoramic sliding door is stored.
During the next comfort opening procedure, the stored positions are actuated.
Actuation of the individual components is described in chapter "Function sequence for comfort actuation with transmitter key"
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO (with code (889) Keyless Go)
^ Circuit 15 OFF
^ One transmitter key is located outside the vehicle and in the vicinity (s = 1 m) of the actuated KEYLESS-GO door handle
^ Doors closed and vehicle locked
^ Touching comfort sensor on outside of KEYLESS-GO door handle for t >2 s
Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO (with code (889) Keyless Go)
The KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5) reads in the signals from the comfort sensors and transmits the request "Comfort closing" to the following control units via the interior CAN:
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Rear control units
- Panoramic sliding roof control module
Actuation of the individual components is described in chapter "Function sequence for comfort actuation with transmitter key"
Convenience closing is interrupted in the following cases:
- when another comfort sensor is touched,
- when the comfort sensor is no longer touched,
- After max. t = 90 s
- If another central locking command is present
If during comfort closed or max. t = 2 s after the same KEYLESS- GO door handle is pulled, the emergency opening function is activated. In this case, the side windows and the panoramic roof actuated in the 'Open' direction. Actuation is performed for min. t = 2 s or as long as the KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, max. for t = 90 s.
