GF82.60-P-3021CA Satellite Digital Audio Radio (Satellite Radio) (SDAR) Function

GF82.60-P-3021CA Satellite Digital Audio Radio (satellite Radio) (SDAR) Function
MODEL 207.3 /4
- with CODE (536) SIRIUS satellite radio

Function requirements for satellite digital audio radio (SDAR), general
^ Circuit 30g ON

Satellite digital audio radio (SDAR), general
On vehicles up to 31.5.2010, the SDAR/high definition tuner control unit (N87/8) is installed and as of 1.6.2010, the satellite digital audio radio (SDAR) control unit (N87/5) is. Both devices are the same in terms of function in model 207 and are referred to below as SDAR control unit. The SDAR control unit enables "Sirius Satellite Radio" provider channels to be received.
The SDAR control unit supports the Real Time Traffic Data (RTTD) traffic data service that can be used by the navigation processor of the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) (with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer or code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)).
The SDAR control unit is controlled using the COMAND controller unit. The information or displays required for control are shown on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) and in the instrument cluster (A1). The system can be operated using the following components:
- Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110)
- Right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)
- Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9)
- Buttons on COMAND controller unit
- Hands-free system microphone (A67b1) via the voice control system (VCS) with code (512) COMAND APS with single DVD drive or code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)

SDAR function sequence
The Sirius satellite radio signal is broadcast 3 times to achieve multi-channel reception (by 2 satellites and a terrestrial transmitter).
The multifunction antenna (A28/11) receives all 3 channels (satellite 1, satellite 2, terrestrial transmitter). The multifunction antenna sends the signals via a coaxial cable to the SDAR control unit. The SDAR control unit receives and decodes the signals. Then the SDAR control unit sends the decoded digital radio signals via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the COMAND controller unit.
With code (810) Sound system the audio signals are output by the COMAND controller unit via MOST to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) and from there via direct lines to the following speakers:
- Left door tweeter (H4/1h1)
- Left door bass speaker (H4/1h2)
- Right door tweeter (H4/2h1)
- Right door bass speaker (H4/2h2)
- Left rear tweeter (H4/3h1)
- Left rear bass speaker (H4/3h2)
- Right rear tweeter (H4/4h1)
- Right rear bass speaker (H4/4h2)
- Center instrument panel speaker (H4/27)
- Rear shelf bass speaker (H4/29)
- Left rear surround speaker (H4/54)
- Right rear surround speaker (H4/57)
In vehicles without code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are output by the COMAND controller unit via direct lines over the following speakers:
- Left door tweeter
- Left door bass speaker
- Right door tweeter
- Right door bass speaker
- Left rear tweeter
- Left rear bass speaker
- Right rear tweeter
- Right rear bass speaker
