GF54.65-P-5001CA PARKTRONIC Control Unit Component Description
- with CODE (230) Advanced Parking Guidance
- with CODE (220) PARKTRONIC

Component Identification:

Location
The PARKTRONIC control unit is located in the front passenger footwell.

Task
The PARKTRONIC control unit performs the following tasks:
^ Control of systems
^ Reading in of sensors
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components

Control of systems
The PARKTRONIC control unit controls the following systems:
- PARKTRONIC (with code (220) PARKTRONIC and code (498) Japan version)
- Exclusive parking assist (with code (230) Exclusive parking assist and without code (498) Japan version)

Reading in of sensors
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Chassis CAN

Direct line
The following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Outer left front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/1)
- Center left front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/2)
- Inner left front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/3)
- Inner right front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/4)
- Center right front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/5)
- Outer right front PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/6)
- Outer right rear PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/7)
- Inner right rear PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/8)
- Inner left rear PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/9)
- Outer left rear PARKTRONIC distance sensor (B8/10)

Chassis CAN
The following information is read-in over chassis CAN:
- By the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
- Data from rain/light sensor (B38/2)
- PARKTRONIC button status (N72/1s8)
- Parking brake indicator switch status (S12)
- Status of backup lamp switch (S16/2) (with transmission 711, 716)

- Provided by the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) (without code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS) or Electronic Stability Program Premium control unit (N30/7) (with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS):
- Signals from the left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1)
- Signals from the right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2)
- Signals from the left rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3)
- Signals from the right rear axle rpm sensor (L6/4)

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following line:
^ Direct line

Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Rear PARKTRONIC warning indicator (A44/3)
- Dashboard PARKTRONIC warning indicator (A44/4)
- PARKTRONIC distance sensors
