AN82.70-P-0008-01EC Retrofit Comfort Telephony Wiring Harness

The following installation is shown on a vehicle with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer as an example.

Component Identification:

1 Release lock (8) at black 34-pin coupling (7) and remove plug contact (10) of violet line (vi) from slot "13" of black 34-pin coupling (7).

The black 34-pin coupling (7) is a discontinued part.

2 Wrap power supply wiring harness with brown lines (br) of violet line (vi) and red/yellow line (rt/ge) with felt tape (11) beginning at white 4-pin connector (5) to a length of approx. 750 mm (area A).

3 Cut off two unneeded brown lines (br) behind cable lug (9), as shown, and wrap with insulation tape.
4 Route power supply wiring harness (1) along broken line through cable duct of center console (12) using pull-through device.

Route power supply wiring harness (1) parallel to previously installed antenna line (2).

5 Route power supply wiring harness (1), as shown, to left next to selector lever module in slot of removed audio component.
6 Route violet line (vi) to black 34-pin coupling (6).

7 Fix power supply wiring harness (1) in place using felt tape (arrow A) at center console (12).
8 Fix power supply wiring harness (1) in place with cable tie (arrow B) at vehicle wiring harness.
9 Release lock (13) at black 34-pin coupling (6) and insert violet line (vi) in slot "13" at black 34-pin coupling (6).
10 Lock lock (13) at black 34-pin coupling (6).
11 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) of power supply wiring harness, as shown, along broken line in left footwell.

Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) behind hose (15).

12 Fix red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) in place with felt tape (14).
13 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) along foot-operated parking brake cable (17) and fix in place using cable ties (16).
14 Install brown line (br) of power supply wiring harness at left front footwell ground point (W15/5).
15 Form loops with excess length of brown line (br) next to left front footwell ground point (W15/5) and fix in place using cable tie (18).
16 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) along vehicle wiring harness (19) upward to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and fix in place using cable ties (20).

17 Remove foam material (21) downwards.
18 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) through opening behind foam material (21) in engine compartment to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module using pull-through device.
19 Fix red/yellow line (rt/ge) in place using cable ties at vehicle wiring harness (19).
20 Install foam material (21).

21 Disconnect yellow 12-pin coupling (22) at front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

The yellow 12-pin coupling (22) is marked with the designation "2I" on the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

22 Insert red/yellow line (rt/ge) in slot "5" of yellow 12-pin coupling (22) (arrow C).
23 Connect yellow 12-pin coupling (22) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
