GF46.15-P-2001CA Easy Entry/Exit, Steering Column Adjustment, Function

GF46.15-P-2001CA Easy entry/exit, steering column adjustment, function
- with CODE (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors)

Function requirements, general
^ Easy entry/exit activated in the instrument cluster (A1)
^ Drive position stored

The easy entry/exit function is activated using the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) of the steering wheel via the 2nd control level of the instrument cluster. The button group signals are sent via the steering LIN (LIN E1) to the steering column tube module control unit (N80). This forwards the signals via the chassis CAN (CAN E) on to the instrument cluster.

Easy entry/exit, steering column adjustment, general
To facilitate entry and exit from the vehicle, the steering column is automatically moved upwards if certain preconditions are met.

Function abort:

Steering column movement is aborted if the following events occur:
- under voltage or over voltage
- Manual adjustment request or current memory request
- Contrary circuit transition or door lock transition
- Hall sensor defective

Repetition safeguard:

Alternately inserting and removing the transmitter key (A8/1) will induce a change cycle between moving to the easy entry/exit position and the driving position.

To prevent overloading of the steering column up/down adjustment motor (M20/2), the number of requests is limited to five adjustment cycles.

The counter is reset when:
- The transmitter key is turned to circuit 15R ON.
- The driver door is opened or closed.

The function easy entry/exit steering column adjustment is comprised of the following partial functions:
^ Move to easy entry/exit position function sequence
^ Move to drive position function sequence

Move to easy entry/exit position function sequence
Movement to the easy entry/exit position is activated by the driver seat control unit (N32/1) in the following cases:
- Removal of transmitter key
- Opening of the driver door with:
- Circuit 15R ON
- Circuit 15C ON

The driver seat control unit receives the required information via the interior CAN (CAN B):
- The circuit status of circuit 15 from the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
- The status of the driver door from the left front door rotary tumbler switch (A85s1) in the left front door lock (A85) to the left front door control unit (N69/1)

Adjustment of the steering column takes place by actuating the steering column up/down adjustment motor from the driver seat control unit.

Move to drive position function sequence
Movement to the drive position is activated by the driver seat control unit in the following cases:
- The driver door is closed with circuit 15 On
- Change from circuit 30 to circuit 15C ON with the driver door closed
- Change from circuit 15C ON to circuit 15R ON with driver door closed
- Change from circuit 15R ON to circuit 15 ON with driver door closed

The driver seat control unit receives the required information via the interior CAN:
- The circuit status of circuit 15 from the electronic ignition lock control unit
- The status of the driver door from the left front door rotary tumbler switch in the left front door lock to the left front door control unit ()

Adjustment of the steering column takes place by actuating the steering column up/down adjustment motor from the driver seat control unit.
