GF82.95-P-3005CAU Restraint System Control Unit Data, Function
MODEL 207.3 /4
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
Function requirements for data from restraint system control unit
^ Circuit 15R ON
^ Communication with the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) operating error-free
^ Automatic crash recognition including crash level by supplemental restraint system control unit
Restraint system control unit data, general
In the event of an accident with airbag actuation, an automatic emergency call (E-Call) is transmitted immediately. An emergency call is sent out regardless of the severity of the accident.
Function sequence for data from restraint system control unit
The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) receives the crash data from the supplemental restraint system control unit via a direct line as a digital crash signal on the one hand and, on the other hand, it also receives the data (redundantly) including the crash level via the following route:
- Chassis CAN (CAN E)
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Diagnostic CAN (CAN D)
The supplemental restraint system control unit transmits a LIFE signal every t = 500 ms via the same path as the crash data, including the crash level (the LIFE signal indicates that the supplemental restraint system control unit is active).
This allows the emergency call system control unit to permanently monitor communication with the supplementary restraint system control unit and proper function of the crash recognition.
