The driver information of the tire pressure loss warning (RDW) is output via the instrument cluster (A1).

A distinction is made between the following:
- Menu displays
- Warning messages

The menu displays can be called up in the IC via the "tire pressure loss warning" [RDW] menu.

The warning messages appear automatically.





Menu display 1
The RDW is only available as of status "term. 15 ON".





Menu display 2
Operation feedback after manual restart.





Menu display 3
Operating feedback in case of errors.

Possible causes are:
- Sensor error in Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) (except code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS) or in Electronic Stability Program Premium control unit (N30/7) (with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS)
- Failure of wheel electronics because of over temperature
- Temporary malfunction





Warning message 1
Warning message without details on position.

If there is a significant pressure loss, the warning message appears after the vehicle has been driven for a few minutes.





Warning message 2
Reminder message when ignition started again after a warning message.

The message is repeated each time the ignition is switched on, provided that the tire pressure loss warning (RDW) system has not been restarted.





Warning message 3
The tire pressure loss warning (RDW) is nonfunctional.

Possible causes are:
- Sensor error in Electronic Stability Program control unit (except code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS) or in Electronic Stability Program Premium control unit (with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS)
- Undefinable or no signal via chassis CAN (CAN E)
