AS91.00-Z-0003-01A Risk Of Injury When Performing Check And Repair Work In Area Of Roll Bar
DANGER:
- Before working in the area of the roll bar, completely extend the rear head restraints.
- Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar extends.
Risk of injury
When working in the area of the roll bar, serious injuries can occur due to sudden extension of the roll bar.
In particular, the roll bar can be inadvertently activated during diagnosis and maintenance operations at the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) (the rollover sensors are integrated into the supplemental restraint system control unit).
Automatic triggering can also occur within 5 seconds following "ignition OFF". It is therefore not sufficient to only switch off the ignition.
Safety instructions/precautions
- Monitor hazard area.
- Before working in the area of the roll bar, completely extend the rear head restraints (only possible if the soft top is in the end position). If the roll bar is triggered, the rear head restraints will rapidly extend approx. 13 cm.
- Disconnect and insulate ground line of battery/batteries. When doing so, take into account any model-specific additional batteries and external power sources.
- Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar extends.
