GF80.20-P-4009CA Automatic Locking, Function
GF80.20-P-4009CA Automatic Locking, Function
Function requirements, general
^ Central locking (CL) unlocked and
^ Function activated via the instrument cluster (A1)
To activate automatic locking, activate on of the central locking closing switches (S85/5s2 or S85/6s2) for t > 5 s. For deactivation, actuate one of the central locking switches (S85/5s1 or S85/6s1) for t > 5 s. Activation or deactivation of this function is indicated to the driver by an acknowledgment sound in the instrument cluster.
Automatic locking, general
The vehicle is automatically locked under certain conditions. The automatic locking function comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for locking, depending on vehicle speed
^ Function sequence for automatic relocking
Function sequence for locking, depending on vehicle speed The vehicle is locked depending on the vehicle speed:
- Vehicle speed v > 3 km/h
- Locking trunk lid
- Vehicle speed v > 15 km/h
- Additionally locking doors
The trunk lid is not locked, only the opening request is ignored.
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) recognizes if the limit values are exceeded by evaluating the speed signals from the instrument cluster and transmits the "Lock" command via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the:
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Left front door control unit (N69/1)
- Right front door control unit (N69/2)
The front door control unit causes the following components to lock:
- Left front door lock (A85)
- Right front door lock (A85/1)
Moreover, opening of the trunk lid via the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) is inhibited by the rear SAM control unit.
The vehicle can be unlocked by opening a door from the inside or with the central locking interior actuation switches
If the vehicle is unlocked with a central locking open switch, it remains unlocked at speeds above the corresponding limit value. The vehicle is returned to the initial state when one of the doors is opened or c. 15 is switched on and off again.
If a door is opened while driving and then closed again, and the vehicle speed is above the limit for automatic locking, the door is locked again after it is closed.
Additional function requirements for automatic relocking
^ CL unlocked with transmitter key (A8/1)
Function sequence for automatic relocking
After the vehicle is unlocked with the transmitter key, a waiting time of t = 40 s starts.
After expiration of this waiting time, the vehicle is relocked if a door or the trunk lid has not been opened previously. Visual feedback is not performed.
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) (on vehicles with code (551) Anti- theft alarm (ATA)) is also activated by the relocking function.
