Component Identification:
Do not damage existing wiring harnesses and newly installed wiring harnesses by crushing or pinching them during installation and attachment. This can cause a short circuit in the electric circuit.
1 Insert red/black line (rt/sw) and red line (rt) of left branch-off line of illuminated door sill molding(5) into supplied black connector housing (15).
Make sure that the black connector housing (15) is contacted as follows: Red/black line (rt/sw) of the left branch-off line of the illuminated door sill molding(5) must connect to the brown line (br) in the coupling housing (16) of the illuminated door sill molding.
Red line (rt) of the left branch-off line of the illuminated door sill molding (5) must connect to the red line (rt) in the coupling housing (16) of the illuminated door sill molding.
2 Connect right illuminated door sill molding as described in operation step 1.
3 Secure threshold switch (4) in front of accelerator pedal support as per picture using supplied velcro strip.
4 Route left branch-off line of illuminated door sill molding (5) along existing wiring harness in cable duct to left longitudinal member as per picture and fix in place.
5 Route right branch-off line of illuminated door sill molding (6) from driver footwell over center tunnel into front passenger footwell to right longitudinal member as per picture.
6 Fix right branch-off line of illuminated door sill molding (6) in place on existing wiring harnesses.
7 Route ground line (8) along existing wiring harness to left front footwell ground point (W15/5) and connect.
A maximum of 5 connectors may be connected to a ground point. In the event of over-assignment another ground point should be selected.
8 Fix ground line (8) in place on existing wiring harness.
9 Route red branch-off line of supply (7) along existing wiring harness through firewall to SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and fix in place.
The blue/white Y branch-off line (9) is connected to the left front footwell lamp at a later stage.
10 Disconnect orange 14-pin connector C11 (arrow A) from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and insert pin "SLK 2.8X0.8" of red branch-off line of supply (7) into contact cavity 6 (arrow B) of orange connector C11.
11 Insert orange 14-pin connector C11 into front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
12 Remove gray/white line (10) from coupling housing (11) of left front footwell lamp.
13 Insert gray/white line (10) into contact cavity 1 of supplied coupling housing (12) and connect to connector housing (13) of blue/white Y branch-off line (9).
14 Insert blue/white line (14) into free slot of coupling housing (11) of left front footwell lamp.
15 Tie back blue/white Y branch-off line (9) in driver footwell.
