Audio system switch on/off, general
The audio system can be switched on and off as follows:
^ Automatically by switching c. 15R on and off
^ Manually by pressing the "ON" button on the radio (A2)
^ Automatic switch-off in the event of undervoltage

Automatically by switching c. 15R on and off
5R When circuit15R is activated (turn transmitter key (A8/1) in the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) to position 1) the radio is switch on in as far as it was switched on before the transmitter key was removed.
The last active audio application is started and the relevant basic menu shown on the audio/COMAND display (A40/8). If the radio was switched off, a warning appears containing general information about how to use the audio system.

Manually by pressing the "ON" button on the radio
If the "ON" button is pressed, the radio can also be switched on and off with the transmitter key removed.
If it is switched on, all audio system functions are available for t = 30 min. The radio is then automatically switched off.

Automatic switch-off in the event of undervoltage
If the voltage of the on-board electrical system battery (G1) is too low, a corresponding warning message appears on the audio-/ COMAND display. This represents an engine starts request. If the engine is not started, an additional warning message appears after t = 3 min. If the engine is not started within the next t = 10 s, the radio switches the audio system off.
If the on-board electrical system voltage then increases again, the radio does not automatically switch itself on again. The radio can be switched on again manually. The warning procedure then runs again, until the cause for the undervoltage is rectified.
