The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit receives signals over the following connections:
^ Direct lines
^ Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
Direct lines
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit reads in the following signals over direct lines:
- Electronic wake-up signal
- DAB Band III signals from the antenna structure in the rear window and coaxial cable to the FM 2 and DAB antenna amplifier (A2/19)
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- FM station lists from audio equipment
- FM signals from audio device, in vehicles as of 1.7.11 with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer or code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation).
Decoding of signals
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit decodes the Band-III signals into pulse-code-modulation (PCM) signals.
Transmit signals
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit sends signals over the MOST:
- DAB status and station lists to the audio equipment
- Audio signals to the following control units:
- Audio equipment (without code (810) Sound system)
- Sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system)
