GF68.50-P-0004LA Roller Sun Blind, Function
GF68.50-P-0004LA Roller Sun Blind, Function
- with CODE (540) Electric rear window roller blind
Function requirements, general
^ C. 15R On
^ No undervoltage or overvoltage
The status of circuit 15R is provided by the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) on the interior CAN (CAN B).
Roller sun blind function, general
The roller sun blind consists of a vertical running roller blind without rails which operates according to the scissors principle in front of the rear window. The roller sun blind is driven by the rear roller sun blind motor (M24).
The rear roller blind motor is actuated by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The roller sun blind is rolled up in the open state.
Closing and opening the roller sun blind is always accomplished in the automatic mode without intermediate positions.
In the event of roller sun blind blockage, actuation is interrupted immediately or the running direction is reversed, because the rear roller blind is not equipped with Hall sensors.
An active adjustment is interrupted only after expiration of an actuation time of t = 11 s.
Operation in event of undervoltage and overvoltage:
If the on-board electrical system voltage drops during adjustment to below U = 9 V or increases to U = 16 V, new adjustment requests are ignored. A roller sun blind already in motion continues to move the end stop.
The roller sun blind function comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for opening/closing roller sun blind via freely programmable button (A40/9s10) (up to 31.5.09)
^ Function sequence for opening/closing roller sun blind via rear window roller sun blind button (A40/9s13) (as of 1.6.09)
^ Function sequence for opening/closing roller sun blind via rotary pushbutton (A40/9s11)
^ Function sequence for play protection
Additional function requirements for opening/closing roller sun blind via freely programmable button (up to 31.5.09)
^ Freely programmable button with corresponding function assigned
Function sequence for opening/closing roller sun blind via freely programmable button (up to 31.5.09)
The upper control panel control unit (N72/1) reads in the signal from the freely programmable button and transmits a corresponding request to the rear SAM control unit via the interior CAN.
The rear SAM control unit receives the request and directly actuates the rear roller blind motor for t = 11 s.
After another t = 2 s, the system changes from the "Closing" status to the "Opening" status and vice versa.
The front central operating unit only relays the status of the freely programmable button through the upper control panel control unit.
Function sequence for opening/closing roller sun blind via rear window roller sun blind button (as of 1.6.09)
The front central operating unit reads in the signal from the rear window roller sun blind button and transmits a corresponding adjustment request to the COMAND control unit (A40/3) via telematics CAN (CAN A).
The COMAND control unit provides this signal to the central CAN (CAN F). The central gateway control unit (N93) reads in the request and transmits it to the rear SAM control unit via the interior CAN.
The rear SAM control unit receives the request and directly actuates the rear roller blind motor for t = 11 s. After another t = 2 s, the system changes from the "Closing" status to the "Opening" status and vice versa.
Function sequence for opening/closing roller sun blind via rotary pushbutton
Select menu "Vehicle" and "Rear roller blind" function with rotary pushbutton and confirm.
The front central operating unit transmits the corresponding adjustment request to the COMAND control unit via the telematics CAN.
The COMAND control unit provides the signal to the central CAN. The central gateway control unit reads in the request and transmits it to the rear SAM control unit via the interior CAN. The rear SAM control unit receives the request and directly actuates the rear roller blind motor for t = 11 s. After another t = 2 s, the system changes from the "Closing" status to the "Opening" status and vice versa.
The status of the roller sun blind is indicated the COMAND display (A40/8) (without code (867) SPLITVIEW) or in the SPLITVIEW display (A40/10) (with code (867) SPLITVIEW).
Function sequence for play protection
The play protection prevents the rear roller blind motor from overloading. Each time the roller sun blind is adjusted, the play protection counter is increased by the value stored in the microprocessor. If the play protection counter exceeds this value, play protection is activated and the function remains inhibited until the limit value of the play protection counter is surpassed again.
If the play protection counter is not equal to zero, it is reduced by a the value 100 each second, regardless of whether or not the system is in the non-actuated state.
