Task
The tire pressure monitor system is permanently operational and is not operated actively by the driver. Each time the interior CAN is woken up by the starting procedure or ignition "On" (circuit 15) N88, the TPM [RDK] control unit carries out a reinitialization and starts to transmit signals to the multifunction display A reactivation of the TPM system can be triggered by the system selection button and the scroll forward/back button.
The TPM system can be reactivated in the following cases:
- Tire pressure changed (e.g. by refilling)
- After each wheel or tire change
With the activation of the TPM system the air pressure values of the wheels set by the driver are stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit as specified monitoring data.
