1 Affix felt tape (12) to illuminated door sill moldings control unit (11) as shown.
2 Connect and lock black 18-pin coupling of power supply wiring harness (9) at illuminated door sill moldings control unit (11).
3 Glue illuminated door sill moldings control unit (11) on control unit carrier plate in trunk at right rear.
The black 18-pin coupling must point toward the rear.
4 Route power supply wiring harness (9) from illuminated door sill moldings control unit to wheel well and fix in place using cable ties.
5 Route brown line (br) of power supply wiring harness (9) to right rear wheel well ground (W54) and connect.
6 Route red-blue line (rt/bl) of power supply wiring harness (9) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fix in place using cable ties.
7 Attach violet fuse carrier (13) at slot "147" of rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
Slot "147" is labeled.
8 Route brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) twisted together through opening (arrow) in partition wall along the existing lines into interior and fix in place using cable ties.
9 Route brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) twisted together from opening along the existing lines to cable duct at door cutout and fix in place using cable ties.
10 Route twisted brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) in cable ducts to right interior CAN/FFS [RBA] potential distributor connector (X30/33).
11 Connect black 2-pin coupling of twisted brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) to any free slot of right interior CAN/FFS [RBA] potential distributor connector (X30/33).
12 Route white 6-pin plug (10.1) of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) from interior through opening (arrow) in partition wall to white 6-pin coupling (9.1) of power supply wiring harness (9) and fix in place using cable ties.
13 Connect white 6-pin coupling (9.1) of power supply wiring harness (9) with white 6-pin plug (10.1) of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10).
14 Route right branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) along the existing lines into right rear footwell and fix in place using cable ties.
The branch-off lines are labeled.
15 Route left branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) along partition wall below insulation mat to left rear footwell and fix in place using felt strips and cable ties.
The branch-off lines are labeled.
16 Wrap felt tape (12) around both converters (5 and 7) as shown.
17 Attach a velcro strip (14) as shown on both converters (5 and 7).
18 Connect black 8-pin coupling (10.4) of front right branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) to converter (5).
The branch-off lines are labeled.
19 Remove carrier film of the previously attached velcro strip and bond converter (5) in gap at crossmember below rear seat.
20 Strap down rear right branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) and bond in gap at longitudinal member below rear seat.
The branch-off lines are labeled. The black 2-pin coupling (10.8) is connected upon installation of the illuminated door sill molding.
21 Connect black 8-pin coupling (10.6) of front left branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) to converter (7).
The branch-off lines are labeled.
22 Remove carrier film of the previously attached velcro strip and bond converter (7) in gap at longitudinal member below rear seat.
23 Strap down rear left branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (10) and bond in gap at longitudinal member below rear seat.
The branch-off lines are labeled. The black 2-pin coupling (10.5) is connected upon installation of the illuminated door sill molding.
