GF27.51-P-2010ACW Multidisk Clutch, Component Description

GF27.51-P-2010ACW Multidisk clutch, component description
- TRANSMISSION 722.618/640/646/695/699

Component Identification:

Location
3 multi-disk clutches made up of multi-disk clutch K1 (24), multi-disk clutch K2 (25) and multi-disk clutch K3 (26) are arranged in planetary gear systems in the transmission housing.

Task
To transmit the drive torque the multi-disk clutches produce a positive connection between 2 elements of a planetary gear set or between one element each of 2 planetary gear sets.

Design
A multi-disk clutch consists of a number of internally toothed plates (10) on an internal plate carrier and externally toothed plates (9) on an externally toothed plate carrier.

Function

Multidisk clutch K1
If the multidisk clutch K1 (24) is engaged through the piston K1 (24a), the it pushes the internal and external toothed plates of the clutch pack together.

29/3e front sun gear is connected to the front planet carrier via the external plate carrier K1 (24b) and internal plate carrier K1 (24c)29/1 Thus the front planetary gear set is locked and turns as a closed unit.

Multi-disk clutch K2
If the multi-disk clutch K2 (25) is engaged via the piston K2 (25a), the piston compresses the clutch pack. The external plate carrier K2 (25b) and center planet carrier (30/3), on which the internally toothed plates are located, connect the front ring gear (29/4) of the front planetary gear set with the center ring gear (30/4) of the center planetary gear set. The front ring gear (29/4) and the center ring gear (30/4) move at the same speed as the drive shaft (1).

Multi-disk clutch K3
If the multi-disk clutch K3 (26) is engaged via the piston K3 (26a), the piston compresses the clutch pack. The external plate carrier K3 (26b) and internal plate carrier K3 (26c) connect the center sun gear (30/1) of the center planetary gear set with the rear sun gear (31/1) of the rear planetary gear set. The center sun gear (30/1) and the rear sun gear (31/1) move at the same speed.
