GF27.19-P-4019ACW Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor, Component Description

GF27.19-P-4019ACW Transmission oil temperature sensor, component description
- Transmission 722.618/640/646/695/699

Component Identification:

Location
The transmission oil temperature sensor is located in the automatic transmission electric controller unit and is rigidly connected to the conductor tracks.

Task
Record the temperature of the transmission oil and pass on as an input signal to the electronic transmission-control control unit (N15/3).

Component Identification:

Design
Temperature-dependent resistance with a positive temperature coefficient (PTC).

PTC
PTC stands for" Positive Temperature Coefficient", in other words, the electrical resistance rises as temperature increases (PTC thermistor).

Function
The temperature of the transmission oil has a major influence on the shift time and thus on the shift quality. It is possible to optimize the gear shifts in all temperature ranges by detecting the oil temperature. The transmission oil temperature sensor is connected in series with the starter lockout contact (Y3/6s1). The temperature signal is only conveyed to the electronic transmission-control control unit when the reed contact of the starter lockout contact is closed.
