GF32.32-P-1010CE Adaptive Damping System Control Unit, Component Description

GF32.32-P-1010CE Adaptive damping system control unit, component description
- with CODE (483) ADVANCED AGILITY package

Component Identification:

Location
The adaptive damping system control unit is located on the control unit supporting plate in the front passenger footwell.

Task
The adaptive damping system control unit does the following:
^ Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Chassis CAN (CAN E)

Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via a direct line:
- Left rear level sensor (B22/7)
- Left front level sensor (B22/8)
- Right front level sensor (B22/9)
- Right rear level sensor (B22/10)
- Left front body acceleration sensor (B24/3)
- Right front body acceleration sensor (B24/4)
- Left rear body lateral acceleration sensor (B24/5)

Chassis CAN
The following signals are read in over the chassis CAN:
- Provided by the instrument cluster (A1):
- Vehicle speed
- Provided by the CDI control unit (N3/9) (on diesel engines) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (on gasoline engines):
- Circuit 61 status
- Kickdown status (with transmission 722)
- Drive variant
- Provided by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
- Vehicle dynamics button status
- Body variant
- Provided by the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N3014):
- Wheel speed
- Data of yaw rate sensor for lateral and longitudinal acceleration (B24/15)
- Service brake status
- Braking torque
- Provided by steering column tube module control unit (N80):
- Steering angle
- Steering angle rate of change

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Chassis CAN

Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Left front axle damping valve unit (Y51)
- Right front axle damping valve unit (Y52)
- Left rear axle damping valve unit (Y53)
- Right rear axle damping valve unit (Y54)

Chassis CAN
The following components are actuated via the chassis CAN:
- By the front SAM control unit:
- Light-emitting diode (LED) in the vehicle dynamics button over the instrument panel LIN (LIN 1)
