GF30.20-P-2011CY Component Description For Accelerator Pedal Sensor

GF30.20-P-2011CY Component Description For Accelerator Pedal Sensor
- ENGINE 156, 271, 272, 642, 646, 651 in MODEL 204

Shown is the driver footwell
B37 Accelerator pedal sensor

Location
The accelerator pedal sensor is located behind the accelerator pedal module.

Task
The accelerator pedal sensor converts the mechanical movement of the accelerator pedal into an electrical voltage that corresponds to the accelerator pedal position.

Design
Shown is the internal circuit

1 Pin 1: Voltage supply (5 V)
2 Pin 2: Signal voltage 1 (approx. 0.40 to 4.50 V)
3 Pin 3: Ground Hall element 1
4 Pin 4: Ground Hall element 2
5 Pin 5: not used
6 Pin 6: Signal voltage 2 (approx. 0.20 to 2.25 V)
A Hall element 1
B Hall element 2
LL Idle position
FL Full-load position

Function
The accelerator pedal sensor consists of a shaft with ring magnet.
The ring magnet rotates in a printed circuit board with stator in the two fixed Hall elements. This produces a change in the voltage.
Information about the accelerator pedal position is sent in the form of two signal voltages to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (for gasoline engines) or the CDI control unit (N3/9) (for diesel engines).

Emergency running
If the signal voltage of one Hall element fails, the signal voltage of the other Hall element is used and the engine goes into limp-home mode.
