1 Remove adapter (6.1) of twisted brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) and connect connection piece (6.2) on twisted brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) of power supply wiring harness (6).
2 Cut off fuse carrier (6.3) of red/blue line (rt/bl).
3 Install "SLK" contact (6.4) on red/blue line (rt/bl).
The "SLK" contact (6.4) is included in the scope of supply.
The red/blue line (rt/bl) is connected at a later point.
4 Connect white 5-pin connector (6.5) of power supply wiring harness (6) to white 5-pin plug (7.1) of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness (7).
5 Affix felt tape (9) to illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) as shown.
6 Tape double-sided adhesive tape (14) included in installation kit to bottom of illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5).
7 Remove carrier foil (14.1).
8 Connect black 18-pin connector (6.6) of power supply wiring harness (6) to illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) and lock.
9.1 Bond illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5), as shown, onto parking system control unit (N62).
In vehicles with code (220) PARKTRONIC or with code (230) Exclusive parking assist.
9.2 Bond illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) onto footrest (15).
In vehicles without code (220) PARKTRONIC and without code (230) Exclusive parking assist.
10 Route brown line (br) from illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) to right front footwell CAN ground point (W15/8) and connect.
A maximum of 5 ground connections can be connected, otherwise the right front footwell ground point (W15/7) is to be used.
11 Route twisted brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) of power supply wiring harness from illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) to right vehicle floor interior CAN potential distributor electrical connector (X30/33).
12 Connect twisted brown line (br) and brown/red line (br/rt) to any free slot of right vehicle floor interior CAN potential distributor electrical connector (X30/33).
13 Route left branch-off line (7.3) of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness from illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) to left door cutout and fix in place.
The left branch-off line (7.3) is labeled.
14 Route right branch-off line (7.2) of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness from illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) to right door cutout and fix in place.
The right branch-off line (7.2) is labeled.
15 Route red/blue line (rt/bl) along existing lines from illuminated door sill moldings control unit (5) into driver footwell and fix in place using cable ties.
16 Route red/blue line (rt/bl) through opening (arrow) in firewall to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
17 Disconnect orange 14-pin connector (8) at front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
18 Install plug contact of red/blue line (rt/bl) in contact cavity 6 of orange 14-pin connector (8).
19 Connect orange 14-pin connector (8) at front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
20 Wrap felt tape (9) around both converters (2 and 3) as shown.
21 Attach a velcro strip (10) to both converters (2 and 3 as shown).
22 Connect black 8-pin connector (7.4) of front left branch-off line (7.3) to converter (2).
The branch-off lines are labeled.
23 Remove carrier film of the previously attached velcro strip and bond converter (2) in cable duct.
24 Strap down rear left branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness.
The branch-off lines are labeled. The black 2-pin connector (7.5) is connected upon installation of the illuminated door sill molding.
25 Connect black 8-pin connector (7.7) of front right branch-off line (7.2) of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness to converter (3).
The branch-off lines are labeled.
26 Remove carrier film of the previously attached velcro strip and bond converter (3) in cable duct.
27 Strap down rear right branch-off line of illuminated door sill moldings wiring harness.
The branch-off lines are labeled. The black 2-pin connector (7.8) is connected upon installation of the illuminated door sill molding.
28 Strap down excess length of all branch-off lines and route in cable ducts.
29 Fix all lines in place using cable ties and velcro strip.
