Location
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit is located in the trunk on the equipment bridge in front of the spare wheel well.

Task
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit has the following tasks:
^ Receive signals
^ Decoding of signals
^ Transmitting signals

Receive signals
The input factors are read in via the following connection:
^ Direct lines

Direct lines
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit is equipped with the following direct connections:
- Wake-up
- Multifunction antenna (A28/11) (DAB-L-BAND signals)
- TV 1 antenna amplifier and DAB Band III (A94/1) (model 204.0/9)
- DAB Band III antenna amplifier (A95/2) (model 204.2)

DAB-L-Band signals mostly come from conurbation stations. DAB-L-Band-III- signals come primarily from extra-regional stations.

Decoding of signals
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit decodes the DAB L-band signals and band III signals to obtain pulse code modulation PCM) signals.

Transmitting signals
The Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit transmits signal over the following connection:
^ Media-oriented system transport (MOST)

Media-oriented system transport (MOST) signals
The following signals are transmitted by the Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit:
- DAB status
- Station lists
- Audio signals

The signals are further processed by the following control units according to the vehicle equipment:
- Radio (A2) (with code (510) Audio 20 incl. CD changer)
- Radio with auto-pilot system (A2/56) (with code (525) Radio MB Audio 50 APS or code (511) Audio 50 APS incl. DVD changer)
- COMAND control unit (A40/3) (with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or code (512) COMAND APS incl. DVD changer)
