GF82.95-P-2015CWU Display Of TELE AID Status, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
Function requirements for Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) system status
^ Status "circuit 30 ON" for following vehicle-related services:
- Manual TELE AID emergency call (E-call)
- Breakdown assistance (Roadside Assistance)
- MB-Info call
- Vehicle remote door unlock
^ Status "circuit 15R ON" in quiescent state and for automatic TELE AID emergency call (E-call)
^ TELE AID system authorized and operating error-free
^ The listed vehicle-related services are separately authorized
^ The customer is registered and authorized in the Customer Assistance Center (CAC)
^ An emergency call system control unit (N123/4) communication module authorized for the corresponding vehicle-related service is configured ex-factory with the telephone number of the corresponding service provider
^ A mobile telephone network is available in adequate strength and quality
^ Triggering of correspondingly listed vehicle-related services
The triggering of correspondingly listed vehicle-related services is described in greater detail in each respective subfunction.
Depending on equipment installed one of the following control units is installed:
^ COMAND controller unit (A40/3), with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
^ Radio (A2), with code (494) USA version
^ Radio, with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer
The function description uses the term "master control unit".
General
The two red light emitting diodes (LED) integrated into the emergency call system button (S93/3) are used to indicate the following actions:
^ TELE AID system self-test
^ Operational readiness of TELE AID system
^ Automatic or manual TELE AID emergency call active
Faults in the TELE AID system are also displayed in the instrument cluster (A1) depending on the fault type.
The LED integrated into the breakdown assistance button (S93/6s2) flashes when breakdown assistance is active.
The LED integrated into the MB-Info button (S93/6s1) flashes when an MB-Info call is active.
The vehicle remote door unlock is executed by means of a message in the instrument cluster.
In the event of breakdown assistance and an MB-Info call, additional services, e.g. Freetext (transmission of text messages), are also shown on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8). This is sent from the emergency call system control unit to the Audio/ COMAND display in the following way:
^ Diagnostic CAN
^ Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
^ Interior CAN
^ "Master control unit"
^ Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) line
The TELE AID status display function is made up of the following subfunctions:
^ TELE AID system status in quiescent state function sequence
^ TELE AID system status function sequence for automatic TELE AID emergency call
^ TELE AID system status function sequence for manual TELE AID emergency call
^ TELE AID system status for breakdown assistance function sequence
^ TELE AID system status for MB-Info call function sequence
^ TELE AID system status for vehicle remote door unlock function sequence
TELE AID system status in quiescent state function sequence
As soon as the "circuit 15R ON" status is achieved the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button light up during the self-test of the emergency call system control unit for t = 4 s. Actuation takes place from the emergency call system control unit via a discrete line.
This indicates a self-test and testing of the following TELE AID system states:
^ Emergency call system control unit power supply
^ Functions within the emergency call system control unit (e.g. integrated communication module or memory)
^ Authorization of the TELE AID system (e.g. of the communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit) or the customer through the CAC
^ Communication with the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) and the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4)
^ Emergency call system button function (e.g. jammed or open emergency call system button)
^ Emergency call system antenna (A2/52)
^ Global positioning system antenna splitter function (A2/5), with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
^ Multifunction antenna (A28/11)
^ Frequency switchover control unit (N96), with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/ Canada
The "circuit 15R ON" status is received by the emergency call system control unit from the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) in the following way:
^ Interior CAN
^ Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
^ Diagnostic CAN
Communication from the emergency call system control unit with the SRS control unit ("LIFE signal" every 500 ms) and the ESP control unit takes place in the following way:
^ Chassis CAN
^ Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
^ Diagnostic CAN
The following components are each tested via a discrete line:
^ Emergency call system antenna
^ GPS antenna splitter, with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
^ Multifunction antenna
^ Frequency switchover control unit, with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada
If a fault is not present, the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button go out after t = 4 s and thereby signal TELE AID system operational readiness.
If a fault is present, the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button are permanently actuated by the emergency call system control unit via a discrete line. Depending on the fault type, a message is displayed in the instrument cluster and filed in the memory of the emergency call system control unit.
The message is displayed in the instrument cluster by the emergency call system control unit in the following way:
^ Diagnostic CAN
^ Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
^ "Master control unit"
^ Interior CAN
TELE AID system status function sequence for automatic TELE AID emergency call
After triggering an automatic TELE AID emergency call (crash recognition incl. crash level) the emergency call system control unit intermittently (partially off) actuates one of the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button via a discrete line. One of the two LEDs flashes throughout the actuation period.
TELE AID system status function sequence for manual TELE AID emergency call (E-call)
After triggering a manual TELE AID emergency call using the emergency call system button, the emergency call system control unit intermittently (partially off) actuates one of the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button via a discrete line. One of the two LEDs flashes throughout the actuation period.
TELE AID system status for breakdown assistance function sequence
After triggering breakdown assistance using the breakdown assistance button, the emergency call system control unit intermittently (partially off) actuates the LED integrated into the breakdown assistance button directly via a discrete line. The LED flashes during the actuation period.
TELE AID system status for MB-Info call function sequence
After triggering the MB-Info call using the MB-Info button, the emergency call system control unit intermittently (partially off) actuates the LED integrated into the MB-Info button via a discrete line. The LED flashes during the actuation period.
TELE AID system status for vehicle remote door unlock function sequence
After triggering the vehicle remote door unlock after a phone call to the CAC, the emergency call system control unit displays the message as follows in the instrument cluster:
^ Diagnostic CAN
^ Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
^ Interior CAN
^ "Master control unit"
^ Interior CAN
