Reason for change
Complaint:
Interference noises (scratching noise) from one of the rear indoor speakers (H4/3 or H4/4).
Cause:
Due to tolerances in the door module, the indoor speaker (H4/3 or H4/4) may be riveted to the door module under stress. This stress in the speaker causes the coil to scrape inside the speaker.
Remedy:
Replace problematic indoor speaker (H4/3 or H4/4). To rule out any other interference factors, remove the part number sticker (see attachment above) from the door module wiring harness and shim the door control unit with a felt strip.
Note:
The door speaker is riveted onto the door module from behind.
