1 Route red/white line (rt/ws), as shown, under the right front floor covering and fasten in place using felt tape.
The red/white line (rt/ws) is routed to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module. The yellow 14-pin plug (9) will be connected to the yellow 14-pin coupling of the power supply wiring harness in the front passenger footwell at a later point in time.

2 Route red/white line (rt/ws) along the vehicle wiring harness (24) into the right side of the trunk.
3 Fasten red/white line (rt/ws) using cable ties to vehicle wiring harness (24).

Perform operation step 4 only when green 7-pin fuse carrier (25) is not installed.

4 Install green 7-pin fuse carrier of media interface wiring harness with connected red/white line (rt/ws) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

Perform operation steps 5 to 7 only when the green 7-pin fuse carrier (25) is installed.

5 Release catch hooks (arrows B) and remove green 7-pin fuse carrier (25) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

6 Remove red/white line (rt/ws) from green 7-pin fuse carrier of media interface wiring harness.
7 Insert red/white line (rt/ws) into contact cavity 1 of green 7-pin fuse carrier (25) and install green 7-pin fuse carrier (25) onto rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
The designation of the individual contact cavities is on the green 7-pin fuse carrier (25) (arrow C).

8 Insert electrical fuse with a fuse rating of 7.5 amps into slot 1 on the green 7-pin fuse carrier (25).

9 Join yellow 14-pin coupling (8) of red/white line (rt/ws) with yellow 14-pin plug (9).
10 Route brown line (br) into front passenger footwell.
11 Connect brown line (br) to ground point (right front footwell) (W15/7).
12 Fasten red/white line (rt/ws) and brown line (br) onto vehicle wiring harness using cable ties.
Form loops with excess lengths of red/white line (rt/ws) and brown line (br) and fasten in place using cable ties.

13 Route blue line (bl) from installation location of media interface control unit (arrow A) along the vehicle wiring harness into the installation opening of the audio equipment and fasten in place using cable ties.

Perform operation steps 14 to 17 only for one of the following codes:
- without code (537) Digital radio or
- Without code (810) Sound system.

14 Fit contact spring SLK (27) on blue line (bl).
The contact spring SLK (27) is available in the wiring harness repair kit supplement for passenger cars.

15 Release lock (28) at black 44-pin coupling (21).
16 Fit SLK contact spring SLK (27) of blue line (bl) into contact cavity 16 (arrow E) of black 44-pin coupling (21).
17 Relock lock (28) at black 44-pin coupling (21).

Perform operation step 18 for vehicles with one of the following codes:
- with code (537) Digital radio or
- With code (810) Sound system.

18 Connect blue line (bl) using a potential distributor (29) to the blue/black wakeup signal line (bl/sw) of the vehicle wiring harness.
The blue/black line (bl/sw) of the vehicle wiring harness is located in contact cavity 16 (arrow E) of the black 44-pin coupling (21).
The potential distributor (29) is available in the new passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
