Task
The Audio/COMAND display does the following:
^ Standard display of application-relevant navigation, control and information windows
Standard display of application-relevant navigation, control and information windows
The input factors are read in and displayed via the following connections:
^ Direct inputs
^ Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN bus) (CAN)
^ Low voltage differential signal (LVDS) connection
Direct inputs
The Audio/COMAND display has the following connections:
- Circuit 30g
- Circuit 31
CAN
The exchange of control data with the individual components as well as diagnosis takes place via telematics CAN (CAN A).
LVDS connection
This standardized digital interface is used to receive picture and video information from the "audio equipment".
The Audio/COMAND display is also equipped with an additional short LVDS line adapter inside the display unit, which has been optimized in terms of its properties for the movement of the display.
Design
Depending on the equipment variant either a fixed 5"-TFT [thin film transistor] color screen with a resolution of 277 x 124 x 3 (RGB [red-green-blue]) pixels or a movable (in 2 stages each of 3°, can be swiveled about the horizontal axis) or fixed 7"-TFT-color screen in format 16:9 with a resolution of 800 x 480 x 3 (RGB) is fitted.
Function
The display and menu display are transmitted digitally over an LVDS line by the "audio equipment" and shown on the Audio/ COMAND display.
