Location
The Audio/COMAND control panel is located on the center console between the front seats.

The audio equipment provides the user with a structured and standard interface for the following system components, which can be operated using the Audio/COMAND control panel:
- Audio:

- Disc (e.g. CD, DVD, MP3)
- Memory card, with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation), with code (512) COMAND APS incl. DVD changer or with code (528) COMAND incl. DVD changer
- MUSIC REGISTER, with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS incl. DVD changer
- Media interface, with code (518) Media interface
- Rear, model 204.9 with code (864) Rear entertainment system and code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or code (512) COMAND APS incl. DVD changer

Actuation of system components
The Audio/COMAND control panel can be used to actuate the audio equipment functions.

DL Rotate counterclockwise

The buttons are designed as push/push buttons.
In detail the following operations are possible with the audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9s11) on the audio/COMAND controller:
- Press: Vertically downwards
- Turn: To left or right
- Tilting: in four quadrants (Y and X-direction), as well as diagonal direction
On vehicles with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS incl. DVD changer, the following sliding movements of the audio/ COMAND controller can be used for the map view during navigation:
- Slide to left front (in 10 to 11 o'clock direction)
- Slide to the left front (in 1 to 2 o'clock direction)
- Slide to left rear (in 7 to 8 o'clock direction)
- Slide to right rear (in 4 to 5 o'clock direction)
On vehicles with code (523) Radio MB Audio 20, with code (510) Audio 20 including CD changer, with code (525) Radio MB Audio 50 APS, with code (511) Audio 50 APS incl. DVD changer or with code (528) COMAND incl. DVD changer, these sliding movements of the audio/COMAND controller are not processed.
