AR88.50-P-5000-02V Adjust Trunk Lid Gas-operated Strut

Modification Notes:

Trunk Lid:

1. Press open trunk lid down at rear, remove stop buffer (1) and insert (4) from left and right hinge lever (2).







2. Loosen ball head bolts (3) on mounts of left and right gas-operated strut (5) until mounts of gas-operated struts (5) can be moved.
3. Press trunk lid toward front until hinge lever (2) reaches stop (arrows) and tighten ball head bolts (3).

Do not push trunk lid too far toward front to prevent damaging the tubular frame and the hinge lever (2).

Observe tightening torque specified for ball head bolts (3).










4. Simultaneously pull left and right hinge lever (2) on rear struts (6) toward rear, then push trunk downward at rear and install insert (4) with stop buffers (1) on left and right hinge levers (2).

Pulling the rear struts (6) toward rear overcomes the dead center point on the hinge lever joints (2).

5. Check adjustment of gas-operated struts (5) by pulling trunk lid up and down.

The stop buffers (1) should make contact with the rear struts (6) of the hinge lever (2) under tension.
