The pulse width modulation solenoid valve is located on the supporting body of the electric controller unit and is pressed against the valve housing of the valve body assembly by a leaf spring.

Task
The pulse width modulation solenoid valve controls the pressure for the torque converter lockup clutch.

Component Identification:

The pulse width modulation-solenoid valve is sealed towards the valve housing of the shift plate by an O-ring and a gap seal (arrow).

The contact springs on the pulse width modulation solenoid valve grip in a slot in the conductor tracks. The spring force of the contact springs means that reliable contacting is guaranteed.

Function
The pulse width modulation solenoid valve converts a pulse width modulated current actuated by the EGS control unit (N15/3) into the corresponding hydraulic torque converter lock-up clutch control pressure.
