Component Identification:

Location
The left front multicontour backrest switch group (S109) or right front multicontour backrest switch group (S108) is located on the driver or front passenger seat, on the outside of the seat cushion frame.

Task
The front multicontour backrest switch group is used for manual deflation and inflation:
- of the lumbar support cushion group,
- the side backrest cushions,
- the shoulder cushion group and to
- start and stop the dynamic lumbar support (massage function).

Design
The setup is described by way of example on the driver seat for left-hand drive vehicle; this also applies in the same way for the front passenger seat.

The following buttons are integrated into the left front multicontour backrest switch group:
- Dynamic lumbar support adjustment switch (S109s1)
- Side bolsters adjustment switch (S109s2)
- Lumbar support adjustment switch (S109s3)
- Shoulder area adjustment switch (S109s4)

Function
The switch positions are read in voltage-coded via resistors by the left front multicontour backrest control unit (N32/15) or right front multicontour backrest control unit (N32/16).
