GF07.03-P-6010MOR Component Description For Fuel Injection Valves
- refinement package
- as of model year 09
Component Identification:
Location
The fuel injection valves are plugged into the cylinder head intake ports under the fuel distribution rail.
Task
The fuel injection valves spray a calculated fuel quantity at a specifically determined point in time, finely atomized, into the intake port of the respective cylinder.
Design
The diameter and number of the outlet holes in the multi-hole nozzle are adjusted to the fuel requirement of the engine (engine power).
Component Identification:
Function
When magnet coil (5) is energized, nozzle needle (8) is raised about 0.1 mm by the solenoid armature (6) against coil spring (13).
The fuel escapes through the multi-hole nozzle (a) and is sprayed into the intake port in a finely atomized spray.
Each of the fuel injection values is directly actuated in sequence via ground impulses of appropriate length from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
The voltage supply takes place from "circuit 87 M1".
Sequential actuation means that a fuel quantity (injection quantity) is calculated for each cylinder and supplied to the cylinder.
