Multifunction Sensor, Component Description

GF83.10-P-2192RI Multifunction Sensor, Component Description

Component Identification:

Location
The multifunction sensor is located in the fresh air inlet in the right rear of the engine compartment.

Task
The multifunction sensor registers the following values:
- Ambient temperature
- Air humidity
- The carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) pollutant concentration in the outside air that is drawn in

The multifunction sensor calculates the dew point from the ambient temperature and the air humidity, and transmits it to the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit via the AC bus (N22). The dew point is needed to regulate the refrigerant compressor (A9).

The multifunction sensor also registers the concentration of CO and NO X pollutants.
The values are read in by the control and operating unit via the AC bus. The control and operating unit controls the automatic recirculation according to the read in values.

The multifunction sensor processes the following values:
- Relative humidity of intake air: 0 to 100 %
- Intake air temperature: -40 to +85 °C
- Dew point: -40 to +85 °C
- CO level: 0 to 200 ppm
- NOx level: 0 to 200 ppm
