GF80.45-P-0003RI Convenience Feature (CF), Function
GF80.45-P-0003RI Convenience Feature (CF), Function
General function requirements
^ Power window normalized
Convenience feature, general
The convenience feature allows side windows and the Vario roof to be opened and closed centrally.
The convenience feature comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key (A8/1)
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via Keyless-Go (with code (889) Keyless Go)
In the event of functions actuated with the remote control key, the central locking is previously unlocked or locked depending on the request from the central locking pneumatic controller unit with combined functions (A37).
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via transmitter key
^ C. 15C OFF
^ Vario roof in end position
^ Vario roof system functioning properly
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Trunk lid closed
^ Luggage compartment separation closed
The status of the trunk lid is sensed by the locking pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4) and read in by the rear SAM control unit (N10/8).
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key
The side windows are opened and closed together with the Vario roof.
During the opening operation, the side windows are opened first and then the Vario roof.
During the closing operation, the Vario roof is closed first and then the side windows.
The convenience closing or opening feature of the Vario roof is activated with the transmitter key via the infrared signal. For this purpose, press and hold down corresponding button on transmitter key, while pointing at left front IR receiver unit (A26/1) or right front IR receiver unit (A26/2).
The left door control unit (N69/1) or right door control unit (N69/2) receive the signal from the corresponding receiver unit and relay it to the EIS control (N73) via interior CAN.
The EIS control unit checks the access authorization of the transmitter key. If the access authorization is valid, the EIS control unit transmits the signal "Open or close" to the RVC control unit (N52).
The RVC control unit relays the signal to the left door control unit and right door control unit via interior CAN. They actuate the left front power window motor (M10/3) and right front power window motor (M10/4).
The left rear power window motor (M10/5) and right rear power window motor (M10/6) are actuated directly by the RVC control unit.
In addition, the RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5) actuates RVC control unit to open or close the Vario roof.
For further information on opening and closing the Vario roof, see separate function description for Vario roof.
Additional function requirements for convenience feature via air recirculation button
^ Circuit 15 On
Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function
Comfort opening or closing is actuated with the air recirculation switch (N22s2).
The signals from the air recirculation switch are read in by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) and transmitted to the following control unit via interior CAN:
- Left door control unit
- Right door control unit
- RVC [UVS] control unit
When opening with the air recirculation switch, the current position of the side windows is stored in the:
- Left door control unit
- Right door control unit
- RVC [UVS] control unit
before actuation.
Then the corresponding power window motor is actuated in the opening direction.
When closing with the air recirculation switch, actuation is accomplished until the side windows have reached the desired position.
The rear windows are only closed and opened when the Vario roof closed.
The window positions remain stored after c. 15R or c. 15 OFF for t = 5 min., if the doors are not opened and the vehicle is not locked or unlocked with the transmitter key.
Additional function requirements for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO
^ Circuit 15 Off
^ A valid transmitter key is located outside the vehicle (max. approx. s = 1 m distance to left door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/38) or right door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/40))
^ Doors closed and vehicle locked
Function sequence for convenience feature via Keyless Go
Actuation of the left door push contact (S47s2) or right door push contact (S48s2) is read in by the KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5).
The KEYLESS-GO control unit wakes up the transmitter key via the left Keyless-Go door antenna or right Keyless-go door antenna and causes it to transmit its access authorization code.
This access authorization code is received by the rear KEYLESS- GO antenna (A97) and relayed to the EIS control unit via KEYLESS-GO control unit.
If the access authorization code is valid and the "Comfort closing" signal is actuated for a longer period of time it is transmitted to the following control units via interior CAN:
- Left door control unit
- Right door control unit
- RVC [UVS] control unit
Then the corresponding power window motor is actuated in the closing direction.
