Location
The overhead control panel control unit is in the center, in the windshield paneling

Task
The overhead control panel control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components
^ Voltage supply to components

Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
The following sensors and signals are read via a direct line:
- Interior air temperature sensor
- Automatic dimming interior rearview mirror sensor, forward (A67h1)
- Automatic dimming interior rearview mirror sensor, back (A67h2)
- Right antenna amplifier module (A2/65).

- Door contact ON and OFF switch
- Dome lamp ON and OFF switch
- Left reading lamp switch
- Right reading lamp switch

Interior CAN
The overhead control panel control unit reads in function-related information via the interior CAN.

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.

Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following lines:
^ Direct line

Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Front dome lamp
- In-car temperature sensor fan motor

Voltage supply to components
- Left vanity mirror illumination (E14/6)
- Right vanity mirror illumination (E14/7)
- Rain/light sensor (B38/2)
- Inside rearview mirror unit (A67)
- Garage door opener transmitter unit (A67n2)
(with code (231) Garage door opener or with code (232) Garage door opener with frequency 284-390 MHz)
- Interior air temperature sensor
- Ambient lamp (A67e3)

The overhead control panel control unit serves as a gateway between the rain/light sensor and the interior CAN.
