GF80.50-P-6030RI Alarm Signal Horn, Component Description

Component Identification:

Location
The alarm signal horn is located in the left front wheel arch above the vent grille.

Task
The alarm signal horn is connected to the driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) via a direct data line. Encrypted communication is accomplished via these data lines.
The alarm signal horns outputs the acoustic alarm for the antitheft alarm (ATA) and the panic alarm (with code (763) Radio remote control with panic switch).

Activation of alarm signal horn:
The alarm signal horn is activated by the commands "Activate, doors closed" or "Activate, doors ajar" via the data line. In the active state, the alarm signal horn permanently monitors whether data and supply line are connected.

Alarm statuses:
The alarm statuses are actuated by the driver-side SAM control unit. The signal sequence is controlled by the alarm signal horn and can be programmed for specific countries via STAR DIAGNOSIS.

The panic alarm can also be actuated when the ATA is The deactivated.

Self-triggered alarm (except on vehicles with code (494) USA version or with code (498) Japan version):
The alarm signal horn automatically triggers an acoustic alarm if it recognizes an interruption in its supply and data lines in the activated state.

Internal rechargeable battery (except on vehicles with code (494) USA version or with code (498) Japan version):
The rechargeable battery, integrated into the alarm signal horn, is charged as long as circuit 15 is On and the alarm signal horn is deactivated. The charge level can be checked via STAR DIAGNOSIS.

Acoustic feedback (only on vehicles with the Netherlands):
The alarm signal horn signals an acoustic feedback (three short buzzing sounds), when it has been activated successfully with the command "Activate, doors closed".
