The interior protection transmitter/receiver unit is clipped into the cover in the center console compartment.

Design
The interior protection transmitter/receiver unit contains a microwave sensor and a micro controller with data interface.

Function
When operating, the microwave sensor transmits (randomly aimed) microwaves through the vehicle interior. The reflected signals are received and amplified by the interior protection transmitter/ receiver unit and then evaluated by a micro controller. The alarm decision is made on the basis of the duration and speed of the movement.
The interior protection transmitter/receiver unit is activated approx. t = 10 s after locking the vehicle. An alarm is actuated by the driver side SAM control unit (N10/10).
