Test Values For Rear Side Window:

Side Windows:

Special Tools:

Correct adjustment of the front door crank window (2) is a prerequisite for testing and adjusting the rear side window (1).

Checking

1. Drop rear side window (1) slightly and attach three pieces of adhesive tape on the top edge of the rear side window (1).
2. Transfer 10 mm guideline, measured from the top edge of the rear side window (1), to the adhesive tapes as shown.
3. Lower rear side window (1) completely.

4. Move rear side window (1) and crank window (2) in front door to upper end positions, close front door and check dimension "c" and dimension "d" between rear side window (1) and crank window (2) in front door.
The top edge of the rear side window (1) must run virtually parallel to the roof frame seal (3).

5. Measure insertion distance of the rear side window (1) on the mounting rail (8).
The rear side window (1) must come approx. 2 mm into the mounting rail (8). The upper measuring point to determine the insertion distance is the bottom edge of the mounting rail (8) without roof frame seal (3).
Calculate the correct dimension of approx. 8 mm with the aid of the feeler gauge.

Adjust

6. Attach cup suction tool to rear side window (1).

8. Remove covers (7).
9. Remove bolts (4, 5).

Aid of helper required.
The rear side window must rest on the front of the electric window lifting mechanism. Parallel movement in relation to the mounting rail is adjusted by lifting or lowering from the rear mounting point.

11. Lower rear side window completely and then move back into the upper end position.
12. Close front door.
13. Check dimension "c" and dimension "d" between rear side window and crank window in front door again as well as insertion distance of the rear side window in the mounting rail, repeat adjustment procedure if necessary.
14. Perform normalization of the electric window lifting mechanism.
