Location
The SDAR/high definition tuner control unit is located in the center of the trunk below the trunk mat on the equipment carrier.

Task
The SDAR / High definition tuner control unit has the following tasks:

Amplifying and decoding signals
The SDAR/high definition tuner control unit decodes and amplifies the satellite signals (Time Division Multiplex (TDM)) and the terrestrial signals (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (COFDM)) in pulse code modulation (PCM) signals.

- Demodulated and decoded digital S-band satellite as well as S-band terrestrial signals as digital traffic data signals to the navigation unit integrated into the COMAND controller unit
