Component Identification:
1 Fit input shaft, main shaft and countershaft together and place mounting plate (1) on input shaft and countershaft.
Countershaft with dia. 25 mm: use assembly plate 210 589 01 31 00. Countershaft with dia. 32 mm: use assembly plate 716 589 00 31 00.
Component Identification:
2 Clamp input shaft, main shaft and countershaft with assembly plate (1) in vise.
3 Place shift unit (2) in position.
All shift forks must engage in the corresponding shift sleeves (arrows).
Component Identification:
4 Lubricate bearing of countershaft (6) in rear section of transmission housing (3).
5 Place rear section of transmission housing (3) on main shaft and countershaft (5, 6).
The main shaft, countershaft (5, 6) and the two shift shafts must locate in the corresponding bearing bores.
6 Check, whether reverse gear (4) engages in toothing of main shaft and countershaft (5, 6).
Component Identification:
7 Lock the main shaft and countershaft (5, 6) using a plastic wedge.
8 Lubricate old collar nut (8) and pull-in sleeves (7).
9 Mount short pull-in sleeve (7) onto main shaft (5) and screw on old collar nut (8) up to the thread end.
The four guide sleeves of the shift unit (2) must move into the bores of the rear section of the transmission housing (3).
Repeat the procedure using various pull-in sleeves until the rear section of transmission housing (3) has been pressed completely onto the main shaft (5).
10 Unscrew old collar nut (8) and remove pull-in sleeves (7) and the plastic wedge.
11 Take rear section of transmission housing (3) with input shaft, main shaft and countershaft (5, 6) out of vise.
Component Identification:
12 Tighten four bolts (9) of shift unit (2).
13 Remove mounting plate (1).
14 Insert main shifter shaft (11) into shift unit (2).
