AR41.10-P-0086-04CW Correcting Center Inclination Angle at Propeller Shaft Intermediate Bearing
AR41.10-P-0086-04CW Correcting center inclination angle at propeller shaft intermediate bearing
Propeller shaft intermediate bearing:
Propeller shaft intermediate bearing:
Correct articulation angle in the center (2)
To correct the inclination angle, install the shop-made shims at the propeller shaft center support bearing. A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17 degrees.
When using shims > 2 mm thick, increase the bolt length by 5 mm.
If a shim > 5 mm thick is required, check the front engine mount and rear engine mount for signs of settling or wear and replace if necessary.
Component Identification:
1 Loosen underfloor panelings on left and right in area of the heat shields.
2 Detach crossmember.
3 Detach and take out heat shields.
4 Remove bolts (7a) from propeller shaft intermediate bearing.
5 Insert shop-made shims between frame floor assembly and propeller shaft center support bearing (arrows).
The dimension for the shims must be taken from the propeller shaft center support bearing, see following picture.
6 Screw in bolts (7a) for propeller shaft center support bearing.
