GF27.10-P-0001-06AHX Automatic Transmission (AT), Transmission Modes

GF27.10-P-0001-06AHX Automatic transmission (AT), transmission modes
- Transmission 722.930

Component Identification:

Gear indicator in instrument cluster (All) in transmission mode Sport "S", Sport PLUS "S +" and transmission mode Comfort "C"
It shows the driver the currently selected shift range "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6" or the selector lever position "P", "R", "N", "D".

In addition to the gear indicator, the current selector lever position is highlighted with a white background bottom left next to the transmission mode display.

Gear indicator in instrument cluster in transmission mode Manual "M"
It shows the driver the engaged gear "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6", "7" or selector lever position "P", "R", "N".

Transmission mode display in instrument cluster
It shows the driver the program selection (S192) Comfort "C", Sport "S", Sport PLUS "S +" or Manual "M" performed at the transmission mode rotary switch.

The data comes from the transmission mode control unit (N145) via the chassis CAN (CAN E).

The individual vehicle tuning (chassis setting and selected transmission mode) stored via the AMG button (S193/3) is shown in the multifunction display after the AMG button has been pressed, and can be changed via the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).

Component Identification:

The following selector lever positions are detected via the DIRECT SELECT INTERFACE:
^ "R", reverse gear
^ "N", neutral and start position (no power transmission, vehicle can move freely)
^ "D", all 7 forward gears are available

In order to change from one selector lever position to the next, greater pressure must be applied to the selector lever (higher force application necessary).

Pressing the "P" button at a vehicle speed less than 8 km/h activates the parking lock.

Transmission mode rotary switch
The following transmission modes can be selected via the transmission mode rotary switch:
^ Transmission mode Comfort "C", start-off in 2nd gear except in 1st gear range; gear changes are performed at lower engine speeds upshift steering wheel gearshift button (S111/1) and downshift steering wheel gearshift button (S110/1)
^ Transmission mode Sport "S", start-off in 1st gear for all driving situations; gear changes are performed at higher engine speeds
^ Transmission mode Sport PLUS "S +"; gear changes are performed with shorter shift times
^ Transmission mode Manual "M"; direct gear selection using
^ Transmission mode Race Start "RS", offers optimum vehicle acceleration from a standing start, provided that road surface provides good grip. This mode is activated in the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) Sport mode with the selector lever set to "D". The Race Start transmission mode ends when a vehicle speed of 50 km/h is exceeded. The transmission mode "S +" is then activated and ESP Sport remains engaged.

AMG button
The AMG button is used to store and call up an individual vehicle tuning setting.

The vehicle tuning features the following setting possibilities:
^ the selected suspension tuning (Comfort/Sport)
^ the selected transmission mode ("C", "S", "S +" and "M")

The task of the transmission mode control unit is to read in the AMG button, to process the signals digitally and to transmit them to the instrument cluster via the chassis CAN in the form of a status message. The status of the AMG ESP Sport Off button is unaffected by this and is not stored.
