GF46.15-P-2001FL Easy Entry/Exit, Steering Column Adjustment, Function
GF46.15-P-2001FL Easy entry/exit, steering column adjustment, function
- with CODE (275) Electronically adjustable front seats memory package
Function requirements, general
^ Easy entry/exit activated in the instrument cluster (A1)
^ Drive position stored
Easy entry/exit, steering column adjustment, general
In order to facilitate entry and exit, the steering column is automatically adjusted upwards when certain prerequisites are met.
The function easy entry/exit steering column adjustment is comprised of the following partial functions:
^ Move to easy entry/exit position function sequence
^ Move to drive position function sequence
^ Repeat limiter function sequence
^ Activate/deactivate easy entry/exit function sequence
^ Function abort, function sequence
Move to easy entry/exit position function sequence
Movement to the easy entry/exit position is activated by the driver seat control unit (N32/1) in the following cases:
- Transmitter key removed (A8/1)
- Opening the driver door when:
- Circuit 15R ON
- Circuit 115C ON
The driver seat control unit receives the required information via the interior CAN (CAN B):
- Terminal status terminal 15 from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
- Driver door status from left driver door rotary tumbler switch (A85s1) in left front door lock(A85) to left front door control unit (N69/1)
Adjustment of the steering column takes place by actuating the steering column up/down adjustment motor (M20/2) from the driver seat control unit.
Move to drive position function sequence
Movement to the drive position is activated by the driver seat control unit in the following cases:
- The driver door is closed with circuit 15 On
- Change from circuit 30 to circuit 15C ON with the driver door closed
- Change from circuit 15C ON to circuit 15R ON with driver door closed
- Change from circuit 15R ON to circuit 15 ON with driver door closed
The driver seat control unit receives the required information via the interior CAN:
- The circuit status of circuit 15 from the electronic ignition lock control unit
- The status of the driver door from the left front door rotary tumbler switch in the left front door lock to the left front door control unit.
Adjustment of the steering column takes place by actuating the steering column up/down adjustment motor from the driver seat control unit.
Repeat limiter function sequence
Alternately inserting and removing the transmitter key will induce a change cycle between moving to the easy entry/exit position and the driving position.
In order to prevent an overload of the steering column adjustment motor high and low, the number of requests is limited to five adjustment cycles
The counter is reset when:
- The transmitter key is turned to circuit 15R ON.
- The driver door is opened or closed.
Activate/deactivate easy entry/exit function sequence
The easy entry and exit feature is activated by the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group of the steering wheel (S111) via the 2nd operating level in the IC.
The signals of the multifunction steering wheel button groups are read in by the steering wheel electronics (N135) and transmitted via the steering LIN (LIN E1) to the steering column tube module control unit (N80). The steering column tube module control unit transmits the signals via chassis CAN (CAN E) on to the IC.
Function abort, function sequence
Steering column movement is aborted if the following events occur:
- under voltage or over voltage
- Adjustment request via:
- steering column adjustment switch (S59) (without code (443) Steering wheel heater)
- steering column adjustment switch (S59/1s1) (with code (443) Steering wheel heater)
- a current memory adjustment
- Contrary circuit transition or door lock transition
- Hall sensor defect
