Heating elements that are secured to the fuel filter without bolts cannot be modified; they are supplied with the new fuel filter.

1 Remove bolt (1).
2 Turn heating element of fuel preheating system (R54) Approx. 30° clockwise and pull upwards out of fuel filter ( 2).
3 Replace O-ring (3) and moisten with fuel.
4 Insert heating element of fuel preheating system (R54) in new fuel filter (2) and tighten bolt (1).

Vehicles with water separator, shown on model 204.002







1 Remove bolts (1).
2 Pull condensation sensor of fuel filter with heating element (B76/1) out of fuel filter (2). Loose condensation sensor (B76/1) if necessary by screwing in 2 bolts M6 x 40 on the fuel filter (2).
3 Replace O-rings (3) and moisten with fuel.
4 Insert condensation sensor (B76/1) in new fuel filter (2) and tighten bolts (1).
5 Fit new bleed screw (4) and O-ring (5).
