Component Identification:
1. Push green rubber grommet (3) in slot 7 using a 2 mm thick punch (4) rearwards and out of the gray/yellow 14-pin connector (1) of the right front headlight unit and out of the gray/black 14-pin connector (2) of the left front headlight unit.
The numbering of the slots is given at the rear on the gray/yellow 14-pin connector (1) and on the gray/black 14-pin connector (2).
2. Install white line (ws) into slot 7 of gray/yellow 14-pin connector (1) of right front headlight unit.
Use the contact (5) with the rubber grommet (5.1).
3. Install white/black line (ws/sw) into slot 7 of gray/black 14-pin connector (2) of left front headlight unit.
Use the contact (5) with the rubber grommet (5.1).
4. Slip a 1250 mm long piece of black spaghetti insulation (6) over the white/black line (ws/sw).
5. Slip a 2250 mm long piece of black spaghetti insulation (6) over the white line (ws).
6. Slip black spaghetti insulation (6) up to approx. 20 mm before the gray/yellow 14-pin connector (1) onto the white line (ws) and seal behind the gray/yellow 14-pin connector (1) using insulation tape (7).
7. Slip black spaghetti insulation (6) up to approx. 20 mm before the gray/black 14-pin connector (2) onto the white/black line (ws/sw) and seal behind the gray/black 14-pin connector (2) using insulation tape (7).
8. Route white line (ws) and white/black line (ws/sw) from installation location of gray/yellow 14-pin connector (1) and gray/black 14-pin connector (2) along vehicle wiring harness and engine hood cable to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
Route white line (ws) and white/ black line (ws/sw) under the rubber seal (9).
9. Fasten white line (ws) and white/black line (ws/sw) using cable ties to vehicle wiring harness and engine hood cable.
10. Wrap felt tape around black spaghetti insulation (6) of white line (ws) and white/black line (ws/sw) in area of refrigerant lines (8).
11. Use insulation tape (7) to seal the black spaghetti insulation (6) on the white line (ws) and the white/black line (ws/sw) in the area of the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
The white line (ws) and the white/black line (ws/sw) must not be insulated over a length of approx. 350 mm by the black spaghetti insulation (6). If necessary, shorten the black spaghetti insulation (6) before sealing.
12. Wrap thin amount of felt tape around contact on white line (ws) and contact on white/black line (ws/sw).
13. Unclip covering (10) of mounting box (12) of front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and remove upwards.
14. Slide expanding pliers carefully between the sealant (arrow A) and rubber grommet (11).
Do not damage the electrical lines and rubber grommet (11), as this may result in water penetration.
15. Carefully route white line (ws) and white/black line (ws/sw) between sealant (arrow A) and rubber grommet (11) into the mounting box (12).
Make sure that the black spaghetti insulation (6) ends before the rubber grommet (11), to ensure that capillary effect does not cause water to enter the mounting box (12).
16. Push sealant (arrow A) firmly into the rubber grommet (11) again. If necessary, use new sealant to restore the leaktightness.
17. Remove insulation tape from contact (13) of white line (ws) and white/black (ws/sw) line again.
18. Check for correct seating of rubber grommet (11) in mounting box (12), correct if necessary.
19. Insert cover (10) from above into mounting box (12) and snap into place.
20. Detach red 10-pin connector (14M) and green 10-pin connector (15M) from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
The abbreviated designations for the red 10-pin connector (14M) and the green 10-pin connector (15M) are printed on the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
21. Install white line (ws) into slot 10 (arrow C) of green 10-pin connector (15M).
22. Install white/black line (ws/sw) into slot 1 (arrow B) of red 10- pin connector (14M).
23. Connect red 10-pin connector (14M) and green 10-pin connector (15M) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
