Function description for position storage, general
The pressures adjusted in the multicontour cushions of the driver seat as well as the position of the dynamic button (S108s6) can be stored in a nonvolatile memory by the left front multicontour seat control unit and retrieved again. Storing and calling up stored positions is performed using the left front memory switch 1 (S22s7), left front memory switch 2 (S22s8), left front memory switch 3 (S22s9) of left front seat adjustment switch group (S22).
The position storage function is described at the driver seat for left-hand drive vehicles by way of an example, but this also applies for the front passenger seat.
While saving, not only the seat cushion contour but also the position of the seat adjustment, the steering column, and the two outside mirrors on the driver-side are stored.
The status of the switches is read in via the left front door LIN (LIN B5) by the left front door control unit (N69/1) and is transmitted via the interior CAN to the driver seat control unit, which transmits the corresponding memory locations 1, 2, 3 to the left front dynamic multicontour seat control unit (N32/19).
Abort conditions
- Adjustment request from driver seat control unit (N32/1)
The position saving function has the following structure:
^ Saving a seat contour
^ Retrieving a seat contour
Saving a seat contour
The seat contour is stored with the left front memory function switch (S22s6) and via memory locations 1, 2, 3 on the left front seat adjustment switch group.
There are two possibilities for storing the seat contour:
- Hold down left front memory function switch and then actuate left front memory switch 1, left front memory switch 2 or left front memory switch 3 for the corresponding memory location;
- Hold down left front memory function switch for t > 100 ms and release. Actuate left front memory switch 1, left front memory switch 2 or left front memory switch 3 within 0.2 s to 3 s.
It is possible to overwrite the stored values at any time. No cushion contour has been saved at the factory (cushion at minimum pressure).
It not possible to store the adjusted seat contour during manual adjustment.
Retrieving a seat contour
A stored seat contour can be restored by actuating the memory location switches 1, 2, 3 at a later time.
A memory position request via a position key of the memory location switch 1, 2, 3 during the "dynamic lumbar" function will result in the function being aborted. After that, the requested memory position is actuated again. The "Dynamic lumbar support" function is not executed until it is requested again.
